We are committed to building strong relationships with our supplier partners, including providing you with the best tools and systems to make it easy to do business with us.
The SAP Business Network (SBN), formally known as the SAP Ariba Network is our primary platform for our supplier’s master data management and transactional processes.
SBN streamlines master data and gives control back to our suppliers. The focus is providing our suppliers a self-service master data platform, to ensure accuracy and consistency. Eligible suppliers who wish to transact with us will receive an invitation to register their supplier master data through the SBN. Once registered, suppliers will be able to access their profile for ongoing changes to their master data.
The SAP Business Network (SBN), formally known as the SAP Ariba Network, is a comprehensive invoicing and transaction platform for buyers and suppliers to connect, transact and partner on shared processes and information.
Through the SBN, businesses of all sizes can connect with their trading partners anywhere, at any time, and from any device, to buy, sell, and manage procurement processes more efficiently.
We have established the SBN as our primary platform for invoicing and transactions. This includes handling purchase orders, confirming order receipts, managing changes to purchase orders, submitting invoices, and providing end-to-end visibility into document status.
Ariba is the simple and structured digital platform used by our global Procurement teams to issue sourcing events. Sourcing events, also known as bid events, can be issued in a number of formats, including a Request for Proposal, a Request for Quote, and a Request for Information.
We send out an email with all the necessary information to access the event to suppliers who are invited to join a sourcing or bid event.
There are 2 ways to access a sourcing event you have been invited to:
For further assistance, contact the bid team member assigned to the sourcing event- details can be found in the invitation email sent to you, and in the Ariba Sourcing Quick Reference Guide. For SAP product documentation and supplier support, visit the SAP Ariba Help Centre.
TRACK is part of our contractor engagement platform for site-based contract labour and allows our contractors to streamline their payment process by submitting timesheets electronically. TRACK is for service order transactions only.
Ensuring the health and safety of our workforce, including contractor partners, is a top priority at Rio Tinto. We have implemented specialised safety compliance and assurance solutions across our operations to maintain high safety standards and comply with legislative and regulatory requirements. To streamline your experience, we will provide access only to the systems relevant to your specific site, ensuring you have the necessary tools and information to meet our safety standards and legal obligations efficiently.
SAP Fieldglass is a cloud-based open vendor management system that we use to help us engage and manage our workforce of independent external contractors.
